Bad News!
Due to the weather and lack of audience at Visitor's Day, I had to postpone my senior culmination project. I am not entirely upset but this means I have to do an even better job since I have more time. My thoughts are that I create a picture slide show of my play's first scene and present it. Any suggestions or concern?

Decisions!
Unfortunately the ending of my play has to be cut off from the rest of play. I lost my notebook a couple of weeks ago and it contained the last pages. I'm currently editing and looking for a nice spot to do my reading. Please check out my website; changes will be made. The presentation of my project will take place on April 30th!

A - Team Meeting
We recently discussed what we are going to do for our BIG project. So, it was decided that we were going to host Playwrighting 360 Festival on May 16th and do some sort of skit live. I'm really nervous for they were telling me all seats in the theatre are usually packed and well I've never done anything like this. We also divided up into groups and I was last to choose from the four that were created: Music Direction and Choreography! I'm really, really nervous because I have no idea how that works but this will be my first attempt ever. A very, very big is aheead for me.

The reason why I've been neglecting to share the script is because some content is unclear to me. Nothing is in the right place and so my goal by the end of this month is to figure that out. My play is different from most, almost unrealistic but that's just the playwright's opinion. I shall see what can be done.

Cupid's Day
Here's a drawing I did for Act I. Rosa Pastel begins her journey with her feline companion in a unknown city. They're waiting on transportation outside a shop where a girl is looking out at the window, who could she be?

A Success Story
Writing the actual idea on paper is the hardest part of my project. I've written and typed Act I but it's not done yet. I have to get someone to read it and give me the feedback any writer would look for. I promise to share with you all the first draft of this Act and please, please feel free to tell me what you think.
Drawing is an essential part of this play. Who here can testify they've understood a piece of literature better by seeing a work of art or a film? I'm not doing anything like this for you all but for myself instead. Along with writing the first part to my play has been drawing pictures of these scenes I imagine happening every moment that someone is talking. I'll also make these images available for you if you dare take a peek at what exactly goes on in my head.

God of Carnage
You're probably wondering, "Impressive title" what's it about? God of Carnage is a play written by Yazmina Reza, playwright, and native to France. The reason why I am taking the trouble of telling you this is because watching it was a part of my assignment for the A-Team. It's pretty cool if you think about it because how many people read and watch plays for homework?

I came across this video and got a few tips from it:
1. Work with what you have...
Obviously, the film was on a low budget and so the writer/director had to work with his surroundings. It gave the film a more "real" look and you felt like you were there when all the blood shed started happening.
2. Get to the "good stuff" right away...
An interesting story is made by getting to the action quickly, don't stall with all these conversations that have nothing to do with it.
3. Writing/Script
Good script, conversations were real and not straight out from one of Shakespeare's plays. Make it short, lively and something that we can all relate too, for instance fear.
The link to the video is here.
And here is another that I really got a laugh from here.

Alley Theatre Meeting 1,2 &3
A) Dec 2, 2010
I arrived late for this meeting for it was my first to attend and I didn't know where the group met. Let me describe the building a bit before talking about what actually happen at this meeting. The Alley Theatre has two levels connected by a set of stairs. On the second level a little room resides and it's there the A-Team meets. I'm serious, it's little and only a few chairs reside there for our discussions. I recall coming in and introducing myself to people and sitting in the circle they had so kindly made. A guest speaker was already there but I had already missed everything they had said.
When the speaker left, I was properly introduced to everyone. The next objective of the evening was to do these breathing exercises for the guys/gals interested in becoming actors. It was more like yoga if anything and it kind of hurt for someone who is taking a break from Athletics.
After this exercise we met up with Kevin Raschke who is in charge of House Management. You're probably wondering what's and so I shall elaborate. Basically Kevin is in charge of recruiting volunteers to usher for theatrical performances. It sounds like a easy job but it's not. In fact it's important to understand how hard this man works to make the theatre look good. First of every usher has a dress code to follow[yay!]. Second, you have to arrive hours before the performance in order to get assigned a job.You might be briefed on safety procedures or told to hold the gong for intermission, the job varies.
To be continued...

I've made a decision
My main focus is to write this play. It might never be read or performed but at least I'll be content with the fact I've done something to be proud of. This is my goal.
